Answer the questions below to see if you are a good fit for the Wellmet Programs
Benefits of Living at Wellmet
Choice
Unlike inpatient programs where the schedule is fully dictated by staff, Wellmet residents can select their own structured activities (school, employment, treatment, etc.)
Stability
Residents establish a regular routine and learn to consistently meet the expectations set forth by Wellmet’s programs. They also can rely on having a safe, supportive home environment to return to each day.
Cost
As a non-profit organization, Wellmet’s fees are much lower than market-rate living or rehabilitative treatment centers.
Support
Our residents have a chance to test out independent living within the safety net of our houses, which are overseen by full-time staff members.

Many different people become a Wellmet Project Resident. We pride ourselves in living within diversity. Yet everyone in our houses have a few things in common, in addition to their desire to gain independent living skills:
- An ability to self-administer medication.
- Actively working with a psychotherapist (not provided by Wellmet’s program).
- Spending at least 20 hours per week in structured activities outside the Wellmet houses. Activities may include a day treatment program, a volunteer position, paid employment, or attending school. All residents must leave the house to participate in their chosen activity between 10:00am and 2:00 p.m on weekdays.
- Not actively struggling with issues of drinking, drugs, violence, or suicidal thoughts. These concerns will be evaluated by Wellmet staff on an individual basis.
- Being able and willing to spend 4 nights each week with other Wellmet residents (the “milieu).
- A commitment to assigned chores and meal preparation each week.
